Nature Center Zielona Góra

Design and Construction of Interactive Stations for the Ecological Exhibition, including a Wet Model Visualizing Ocean Currents and “Cloud Formation” in a Rotating Hemisphere for the Natural History Museum (Kepler Science Center) in Zielona Góra.

In 2014, we developed and built several interactive stations for the Natural History Museum, part of the Kepler Science Center in Zielona Góra.

One of the installations demonstrates the principle of the block and tackle system through three examples, allowing visitors to explore mechanical advantage interactively. Other interactive stations created in 2014 include a hand battery, a station for observing the biogalvanic effect, and a resistance measurement setup for testing the resistance of various materials. Another exhibit, Maxwell’s Pendulum, is a vertical pendulum with a flywheel (Maxwell’s disc) to demonstrate the conservation of energy and inertia. Additionally, we built an air cannon, a device for shooting air vortices with a target to observe the vortex effect in motion.

In 2015, we produced additional exhibits for the Ecological Exhibition at the Natural History Museum. One of the key installations is a wet model visualizing ocean currents, driven by six concealed hydraulic pumps. This model demonstrates how garbage patches form near Hawaii by tracking floating spheres on the hydrophobic-coated ocean surface.

Another major exhibit, Cloud Formation, is a manually rotated hemispherical system filled with a liquid possessing special optical properties. This interactive model allows observation of continuous media flow under the influence of centrifugal force and the Coriolis effect, simulating atmospheric motions and processes. Beyond its educational value, the exhibit produces hypnotic visual effects.

The project was carried out by Induforce.
